XtreemFS is a grid file system enabling seamless access to user files regardless of location. The cross-platform client uses Vivaldi coordinates for locating nearest neighbor storage. During this talk, we will show the seamless replication and fault tolerance using XtreemFS.

  • Speaker :

Marko Obrovac has been working on the XtreemOS project since september 2009. His main focus within the XtreemOS project has been testing, component integration and system configuration. He is particularly interested in the Cluster flavour for which he has been developing kDFS - a symmetrical cluster file system.

As a side project, he created a utility to deploy & configure XtreemOS systems on Grid5000.

Currently he’s a PhD candidate at the University of Rennes 1, as a part of the Myriads team at INRIA, focusing on distributed application execution.

XtreemFS has been developed as a part of the XtreemOS project, a consortium of 19 academic and industrial partners, partly funded by the European Commission’s FP6 funding for technology research and development.
