One of the goal of the CITIC 74 is managing the education infrastructures over the French "haute savoie" area, especially the 47 secondary schools.

This represents roughly 100 servers running GNU/Linux (PingOO distribution developed by the CITIC 74), 3600 workstations running Windows XP Pro, and 800 softwares.

Winpackage allows to manage installations/uninstallations/updates of softwares (including Windows security updates), with the same features of software dependencies.

WWMSD (Windows Workstation Management System Daemon) is a workstation manager, either by workstation or by groups, and allowing to automatize taks during specific time periods (software updates, maintenance, shutdown…)
