Self-Hosting : Introduction to the concept by RHIEN
The talk
Computers are more and more all around us, we need them to read our mails, stay in touch with friends or listen to the music we like. However, for these kinds of task we’re using more and more externals services offered by large companies such as Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Deezer or Youtube…
As such, isn’t getting our private data into the hands of these companies a bit risky regarding privacy ? Why don’t we manage these data by ourselves, hosting them on a personal computer we have full control on ?
During the talk we’ll demonstrate why it’s so essential to keep the control over our data, and show how to configure and run your own “home server”.
