LinuxCOE (Common Operating Environment) is a project developed to ease deployment and life cycle management of Linux systems. It ’s main features are repeatability of installations, simplicity and unicity of interface for multiple distributions, geographical repartition of the various components (design interface and repositories)

LinuxCOE proposes a Web interface (SystemDesigner) allowing the design of systems to install. This is a CGI interface generating bootable ISO images for distributions, which can be installed locally or remotely.

The remaining of the installation is after that boot phase networked based. It also provides an installation profile management in order to allow easy adaptation and reuse.

It also all ows to retrofit already installed systems, to benefit from the LinuxCOE features, such as value added packages, update repositories repared by the central management team.

The infrastructure relies on a network of repositories, proposing various Linux distributions. LinuxCOE deals with RHEL, CentOS, Fedora, OpenSuSE, SLES, Debian, Ubuntu, Scientific Linux, VMWare ESX …

LinuxCOE is distributed under the GPLv2
