FusionInventory is an inventory project.
It’s splitted in two parts :
1. A unified agent (windows, linux, BSD, solaris, AIX, MacOS…).
This agent is modular and includes :
- Host inventory (software, hardware, bios, VM…).
- Application deployment (OCS deployment using P2P technology to decrease bandwidth usage).
- Network discovery : discover all the pieces of hardware connected on the network using NMAP scans, Netbios and SNMP.
- SNMP queries to fetch printers informations (print counters, cartridges usage …) and switch informations (ports, hosts connected on each port…).
- Wake On Lan : remotely booting a machine..
- OPSI (to come).
- GOsa²-SI (to come).
- …
2. A plugin for GLPI (ex Tracker) :
- Get servers, printers, switches… inventories from GLPI.
- Link between switch ports and host/printers connected to them.
- Use agent features through the web interface.
