FusionInventory is an inventory project.

It’s splitted in two parts:

- 1. A unified agent (windows, linux, BSD, solaris, AIX, MacOS…).

This agent is modular and includes:

  •  Host inventory (software, hardware, bios, VM…).
  • Application deployment (OCS deployment using P2P technology to decrease bandwidth usage).
  •  Network discovery: discover all the pieces of hardware connected on the network using NMAP scans, Netbios and SNMP.
  • SNMP queries to fetch printers informations (print counters, cartridges usage …) and switch informations (ports, hosts connected on each port…).
  •  Wake On Lan : remotely booting a machine..
  •  OPSI (to come).
  •  GOsa²-SI (to come).
  • …

- 2.  A plugin for GLPI (ex Tracker):

  • Get servers, printers, switches… inventories from GLPI.
  • Link between switch ports and host/printers connected to them.
  • Use agent features through the web interface.
