Through the use of Free Libre Open Source Software and Open Data, the French group Regards Citoyens assembles volunteer citizens who take advantage of free software habits and techniques to reuse public data and make sense out of it in order to provide a better understanding of the French democratic institutions. Their first and major realisation was the development of the first French parliamentary monitoring website which was developped as a free software. They pursued then the same goals by working on various projects including the promotion of open knowledge, datajournalism studies based on public data and tryouts for data liberation like a polling stations geolocalization.
