As members of the Enlightenment project, we would like to present how to use the Enlightenment Foundation Library to design beautiful applications with rich user interface on embeded devices.

Enlightenment Foundation Library are used in a growing number of devices. Like in smartphone, where OpenMoko was the first of this kind to use the EFL, but more are comming. The EFL are also used for SmartBook UI. And of course it’s also used in Set Top Box, like the Freebox HD.

The french community of the EFL is already quite important with a dozen people writing code and using them to develop applications or improve its core libraries. Of course this is without counting the amount of people using Enlightenment 0.17.

The speaker :

Cedric Bail is contributing to the Enlightenment project since 3 or 4 years now, mostly on the core libraries to make it run on the Freebox HD device. I am the developer of the Elixir project that uses the EFL to provide an open graphical SDK on Freebox set top box. Previously to that work, I was playing with smartphone on Symbian and Windows Mobile. So I start to have some good idea on how to design and run interface on limited hardwares.
